Our History

A Global Legacy in Esthetic Dentistry Since 1994

The International Federation of Esthetic Dentistry (IFED) was founded in 1994 by the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and the Japanese Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. The formation was announced at the first joint Tri-Academy meeting held in Florence, 1994.

IFED's purpose is to contribute to the progress and development of worldwide esthetic and oral health and to enhance communication between member organizations.

Actually, IFED has 29 officially member academies and societies whereby the Asian Academy of Esthetic Dentistry itself has 12 Asian academies as members. IFED holds a world scientific meeting every two years and hosted by a member academy. Delegates attend from all around the world.
